1953 Topps Mickey Mantle SHORT PRINT #82 PSA 8 NM-MT

Easily one of Mickey Mantle's most important cards and one of the two vital stars included in the '53 Topps production (other being Willie Mays). At the time, Mantle's elite productivity was still a few years away, having hit .295 with 21 home runs, 92 RBI and 105 runs scored during his 1953 season. This card is almost never seen in PSA 8 due to its ultra fragile red bottom border which is often plagued by chipping. In fact, less than a hundred PSA 8s exist, a number which may sound high but really doesn't come close to satisfying the hoards of Mantle investors. The offered beauty boasts three pin-point sharp corners with only a typical micro touch to the extreme lower left present. Free of nearly all edge chipping with strong card stock and clean borders. The color is extraordinary and the print is exceptional. In the world of sports card commodities, few reside as high on the hill as this production. Please see the video highlight for more details on this offering. One of over 21,000 cards, lots and sets up for bid in our 7th Auction of 2020.
